Hazy stares instead of glances?

But age sets in and we forget the faces, names and innocence.
"But the feeling never goes away!" Nothing but cliched.
Of course the feeling goes away -- I know because I desperately
went searching and it tricked me in a large, expensive bed.

The 10 days pass, and then the end (exactly like the rest of them):
departures, lectures, tears, indifference.
But this one hurt a little more ... I promised never to explore that far
until vows were clearly spoken.

Oh, that snake is such a clever whore,
and I ate those apples to their cores.
Oh, that red delicious aftertaste is spit and dirt and poison.
And I know God's humor all too well,
so one day if I hear those bells,
I'll also hear Him laughing through my guilt-ridden confession.
